Add an identifier to Game Servers

We’re hosting a network of game servers (Minecraft) with multiple servers. Some packages are globally available and the customer can choose which server they want to purchase the package on. This whole system is linked to give LuckPerms permissions.

It would be nice to have a second field in the game server settings that is used as an identifier with an approriate value that can be used in commands. This would allow to make the server selection more fancy (for example “Vault Hunters” as displayname and “vaulthunters” as the according LuckPerms identifier).

You can make better looking server names by using our Custom Variables feature instead of allowing your customer to pick a server directly from your Game Servers List. Custom Variables give you more control over the wording and look of any variable you setup, including server names.

All you’d have to do is create a new Custom Variable called {servername} for example, then add this Custom Variable as an option to the relevant packages. You can even create multiple of these, for example {servername2} and only add specific servers to that specific variable, so you can restrict which servers customer’s can ’send’ different products to, if you need to do this.

For more information on using Custom Variables, please see our help article here: https://docs.tebex.io/store/key-features/variables

I hope this helps, ff you have any more questions please feel free to reach out to support@tebex.com
